About Me
In August 2001, My wife, Heather, and I were on a vacation in Mexico when we read The Prayer of Jabez, by Bruce Wilkinson. It's a small book, but it changed the course of our lives in a big way, beginning with that small prayer that Jabez prayed in I Chronicles 4:9-10:
Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.
That's the prayer we began to pray - that our lives, our marriage, and our ministry would be blessed by God and impact people far and wide; that we would continually walk in the presence of God, that His hand of anointing and blessing would be upon us, that He would keep us from evil, and that we would not cause pain! We have had our experiences with sin, with pain and disappointment. Still, God has blessed our family and ministry, and continues to invite us into opportunities to serve Him in new ways - in the Greater-Houston & Beyond!

After 14 years in pastoral ministry, Heather and I moved our young family to the Houston area in 2008 to relaunch and pastor Clearpoint Church. Since those early days, God has grown us, He has grown our faith, and has constantly and steadily grown our church as we remained committed to the Great Commission - "To Go into all the world and make disciples" through equipping and empowering the Body of Christ to do the work of the ministry. We have seen 100s come to Christ, be baptized, discipled, and equipped and empowered for the work of their ministry.

In June 2017, after 17 years in education, where Heather worked as a high school Spanish teacher, school counselor, and administrator, she closed the door for the last time to her office as a public-school employee. She could no longer quiet the deafening cry of those impacted by disparities in mental health access in her communities. As an army of one, she believed she could make a difference. Seven years later, Heather is the founder of Clearhope Counseling & Wellness Center with a team of 50 clinicians and support staff with 5 locations in the Greater-Houston area, serving 5 school districts with on-campus services, and over 14,000 students and families served.
Family
Brian and Heather have been married for 30 years and have 4 children, Hannah, 28, twins, Jacob and Kelly, who are 21, and Brooklyn, 17.
